About Lillian Li, the Author |

Author Lillian Li lives in Toronto, Canada, with her family. Along with her husband who is an accountant, she started her children’s financial education at an early age. Max, her eldest son, began his training at the age of five. Within three years, it was clear that Max was much more financially sophisticated than other children his age. Ms. Li expects Max will be able to self-finance his university education using the financial intelligence he has learned as a child.
|

Inspired by the progress of her own children, Ms. Li is passionate about promoting “early financial education” for all children. Ms. Li details her techniques in her book, The 7 Habits for Money Smart Kids. She believes that financial education is equally as important as academic education to a child’s future success. Some of her ideas for training children about money come from Chinese family traditions that take training children about money matters very seriously.

Since 2000, Ms. Li has been pursuing her entrepreneur spirit by operating her own business. She enjoys her online businesses and real estate investing, which have allowed her to put her financial and business skills into practice and generate multiple incomes for the family. She feels that owning a home-based business is a great way to teach kids about money…earning it, saving it and investing it wisely.

With many years of studying financial gurus, such as Robert Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, and Suze Orman, who has inspired Ms. Li with her breakthrough work on women and money, Ms. Li has become a financial expert in her own right, and continuously improves her knowledge through seminars, workshops and books.
